A big part of a photographers job is obviously their camera, so I’m going to give you recommendations on cameras that are used to capture every one of my photos.

First up, my main camera: the Sony A7IV

This is obviously my most important piece of equipment, and for good reason. Not because its a camera, because it’s a good camera. The Sony A7IV is a Mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses, an LCD screen, around 200 minutes of battery life, up to 204,000 ISO, and all while coming in at a weight of 1.43 Lbs, and a price of $2,000. It also features a very important tool, autofocus. Autofocus saves so much time at a wedding, and makes it pretty quick to get perfect candid shots at a wedding, and the next camera takes this to another level. All in all, this is an amazing camera with some great features that I’m not sure I could live without.

Next on the list, my secondary camera: the Sony A7 RIV

Once again, this is one of the more important pieces of equipment, a secondary camera. Who knew that putting different lenses on two different cameras would be useful during a wedding shoot? The Sony A7R IV is just about the same as the camera above, with more megapixels and less ISO, a weight of 1.47 Lbs this time, and at around a cost of $3,500. Now you’re wondering what I was talking about when I mentioned autofocus on another level, and here it is. The Sony A7R IV features eye tracking autofocus in real time, which is insane. With more megapixels than you can count, it makes all the photos this camera takes look amazing. With autofocus this good, you have more chances to get amazing photos at a wedding, and that will make your clients very happy. Once again, this is a camera that I use for every shoot, and I can’t recommend it enough.

There are other things I use on my wedding days and those will be covered another day, but I just wanted to cover my cameras, as they are the most important part of the job. If you want to use a Canon or Nikon camera that’s fine, I just wanted to give suggestions to people just started wedding photography or people who’ve been doing it for years.

Use a camera that works with you.

If you are using a camera that you don’t like the specs of, or the ui, the camera isn’t going to work with you, it will probably work against you. Take this into account when buying a camera, and when purchasing these listed above. These cameras work amazingly for me, but they may not for you. It’s all a matter of preference. So with this information, you might find the perfect camera for you. It may be one the models listed above, or it might not. Whatever the case may be, I hope you at least use the camera to take some amazing photos. With that, have an amazing day!
